Kastor is the secondary antagonist of the Captive Prince trilogy. He is Damen's older half-brother by 8 years, and is the out-of-wedlock son of Theomedes and Hypermenestra, Theomedes' mistress. Theomedes raises him as Crown Prince until Damen is born from Theomedes' wife, Egeria. Because he is a bastard but Damen is born legitimately, when Damen is born, Damen becomes Crown Prince instead.
At the beginning of the series, to become king, Kastor poisons his father and sends Damen to Vere as a slave.
Appearance[]
Kastor is tall, with dark hair, dark eyes, and olive skin. He has a straight nose, high cheekbones, and looks like his father.[1]
Personality[]
Kastor is not above using underhanded tactics to win a fight. His jealously blinds him from seeing Damen as a brother and only as competition for the throne. Due to him being the first born but an illegitimate heir, his resentfulness and insecurity leads to his ultimate betrayal and the need to prove himself worthy of the crown.
Relationships[]
Family[]
Damianos[]
Kastor's younger half brother and only sibling. Damen recalls that Kastor had taught him how to hold a spear, had once sat with him when Damen's first pony broke its leg and had to be put down, that after his first okton Kastor had ruffled his hair and told him that he had done well. Damen's memories from his childhood suggest that Kastor embraced the role of being the big brother at least for a few years.
Theomedes[]
Kastor's father who was the former king of Akielos. His death was the start of the Captive Prince series.
Hypermenestra[]
Kastor's mother and mistress to Theomedes.
